COMPANY HISTORY

Over the past four decades Ringnalda & TenHaken Insurance(RTI) has been by partnering with West Michigan businesses to provide the right coverage at the right price.   This proven track record is only possible if they put their clients needs first.  Another key to providing a positive client experience is to have well run, financially strong insurance companies to represent.  Currently RTI works with Frankenmuth, Citizens, EMC, Travelers, Michigan Millers and Michigan Insurance, among others.  These relationships are enhanced by their Trusted Choice accreditation.

RTI has a hardworking staff in two West Michigan locations to help continue the company's success.

Service Philosophy. RTI maintains a small agency feel while still leading the way in the marketplace.  They strive to create a positive business relationship to turn their customers into clients.  You will find out why they say, “Handling your insurance is our privilege.”

How They Negotiate Renewals. RTI begins the renewal process 90 to 120 days before a policy is up. During that time they review the needs of their client, and review and compare the policies and rates of their providers. When they have gathered all their information they present their findings in a manner that allows the client to make an informed decision without being rushed.

Risk Management.  Risk Management is a process that can help a client create safety solutions that are cost effective and adhere to ethical guidelines. The first step is to analyze past incidences and recurring problems. From there patterns of loss and frequency are identified, and then compared to similar organizations in the area.

Once areas of improvement regarding safety have been identified the insurance company works with employees to reduce or eliminate those risks. Employees receive training to help identify situations that may not be safe.

RTI is proud to have a Risk Management Specialist on staff and can offer a variety of levels of service in this area.

Training Provided.  Providing training to employees helps lower company losses and helps establish a safe work environment for everyone.

RTI can offer:

  • Safety training videos are available on a wide range of topics from ergonomics, avoiding rear-end collisions and fall protection. Videos can be sent to an onsite location.

  • Webinars are also provided. Webinars allow employees to learn and study new safety producers or brush up on established ones, at anytime and without traveling offsite.

  • Online training is available whenever it is needed.

  • Hands-on training with our Risk Management Specialist

Most training is complimentary, while some is offered at a minimal cost.

Claim Handling Procedures. It is their goal, through their risk management programs and training to minimize claims.  However, in the event that an incident occurs the claims handling procedure is a process involving several steps.

  1. Information is gathered regarding type of loss, the date of the incident, coverage implications, etc.

  2. An agent/company representative will inspect any damage related to the claim.

  3. Claim is resolved. This step can vary depending on when the claim was made and complexity of the claim.

Throughout this process the agent is an advocate for the client to the insurance company.
